Dear Kobe,
You always defined yourself not by your gifts or the way others perceived you, but the your desire to be the best you could possibly be.
People asked you if you were disappointed that you didn’t win more. You expressed gratitude in doing everything you absolutely could do, and getting so much done with that.
You challenged others and myself to defy the limitations the world sets on us. Today, this hurts. But I fully and happily except that challenge.
You left me with the tools to become my best self, and the confidence to say “I can”. I’ll carry on your legacy and your mentality. And when we meet, I’ll express that same gratitude you did.
Rest in Power my friend.
Thank you,
Jonny Fasakin
