Dear Kobe,

I have not only admired You as an athlete but more so the family man you became battling life’s hurdles. You have always loved your family, and it showed more with the love that you had for your children— especially Gigi once you found out that you and her had a common love basketball.

You have been a great dad trying to fulfill her dream in every way possible. That bond you had with her only God knew. I am sure you are in heaven helping, comforting and guiding her, not only as coach, but also as a father holding her hand.
My heart and prayers goes out to the other special people that were with you on that unfateful day—but you all are a team now, in a better place. Of this, I’m sure. May God rest all your souls in peace and your great legacy live forever. Rest In Peace Mamba and Mambacita!
